People Operations Lead
Job Description
AMI is looking for an ambitious and talented Lead, People Operations to develop and implement People strategies, policies and initiatives to support our employees across Africa. You will also be tasked to drive legal compliance and process innovation across our operations in all our offices.
HR Operations and Compliance:
- Ensure legal compliance and best practices across all operational markets
- Ensure completion, continuous improvement and documentation regarding all our HR policies
- Develop and implement global People Ops processes, enhancing efficiency and consistency:
- Contracts
- Payroll
- Health & Security
- Leaves
- Compensation & benefits
- Onboarding
- Travel, etc
- Document all of our HR processes in our Resource Center, and communicate accordingly to the relevant stakeholders
- Implement, continuously improve, own end-to-end and develop our HIRS (Work pay)
- Work closely with local People Ops representatives to understand and address market-specific needs

Employee Relations:

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with a current active membership in IHRM.
- 8+ years of experience in HR or People Operations, with some years in a leadership role
- People Ops and payroll experience: You have previous strong experience as a Local People Operations Expert or a Global HR Generalist with a strong understanding of legal compliance in African markets and proficiency in HRIS

Senior Accountant
Job Description
AMI is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to be based in Nairobi. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in handling the finance and accounting functions on a daily basis. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering results. Your primary responsibility will be to support the business across Africa by collaborating with other finance and accounting teams. You will report directly to the Group Finance Manager.
Financial Reporting and Management:
- Supervise Accounts assistants and provide guidance when necessary.
- Assist in preparing monthly performance reports for the company and subsidiaries, including analysis and commentary on performance against budgets and prior year.
- Perform month-end closing activities such as account reconciliation, revenue recognition, expense accounting, Intercompany reconciliations, Account receivable/payable etc.
- Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting principles, identifying and addressing any material errors or discrepancies.
- Play a key role in the preparation of year-end and statutory accounts.
- Ensure monthly reconciliations are performed for all bank accounts, credit cards, petty cash, Mpesa etc.
- Maintain proper records and listings of prepayments, accruals, staff advances and other relevant accounting records.
- Ensure supporting documents are accurately maintained on NetSuite ERP.
- Analyze expenses to identify cost-cutting opportunities and drive value for the AMI Group.
- Oversee the fixed asset register and reconciliations, including monthly depreciation.
- Manage Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes, including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries, conducting weekly check runs, and preparing monthly accruals across the group.
- Regularly reconcile key accounts and confirm the accuracy of account postings and other financial records.
Cash Flow Management:
- Prepare bi-weekly cash flow statement reports and effectively control expenditure and cash flow.
- Manage working capital and cash flows to maintain a healthy liquidity position for the business.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable activities.
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and check requests in accordance with authorization and approval policies, and follow up on any outstanding invoices.
- Review aging reports and proactively communicate with customers regarding overdue balances.
- Manage petty cash payments appropriately across the group.
Compliance:
- Assist in preparing documentation for annual financial audits and act as a key liaison with the external auditor.
- Review and analyze current accounting systems and internal controls, providing suggestions for improvement as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local VAT, income tax, withholding tax (WHT), and statutory reporting requirements across the group, liaising with tax and other advisors as needed.
- Prepare tax schedules for monthly tax filings, ensure timely tax payments, and maintain proper tax accounting and reconciliations across the group.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Relevant certification (ACCA, CPA) will be preferred
- More than 5 years’ experience as a Senior /Chief accountant
- Strong accounting skills and knowledge of accounting principles/practices
- Proficiency in financial software, specifically Netsuite ERP

Marketing Specialist; CRM and Marketing Systems
Job Description
AMI is looking for an ambitious and talented Marketing Specialist to support the marketing team with the current CRM and marketing systems.
CRM
- Support the assessment and resolution of Zoho CRM cases and tickets
- Lead Zoho CRM support and specific enhancement projects
- Support CRM business process automation projects and data optimization projects
- Play product owner for applications, tools, and plug-ins within the CRM stack
- Build productive and collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and business owners
- Build and automate data quality controls and master data management operations.
- Identify, assess, monitor, document, and communicate potential quality issues and provide efficient solutions for Zoho CRM
Marketing Systems
- Manage day-to-day requests for website updates
- Facilitate website & other system integrations with the CRM
- Recommend and implement changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
- Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
- Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns
- Collaborate with analytics & data teams to drive a machine-learning based approach to customer touch points
- Communicate proactively and frequently and modify technical information as needed so that it can be understood by stakeholders to enable their decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Marketing or related field
- 3 years experience working with CRM platforms (Zoho CRM will be strongly preferred)
- 3 years experience implementing multiple marketing integrations including websites, landing pages and social media platforms for a unified user experience
- Experience converting business requirements to technical solutions
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial or high-growth environment
- Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal skills and a self-starter
- Hands on experience in building and optimizing CRM platforms including Zoho CRM and Zoho suite of products
- Strong working knowledge and experience in website development including use of content managers such as WordPress & Wix
- Proven SEO & SEM experience
- Experience with Google Analytics and other web-analytics tools to building meaningful reports & dashboards
