Food and Beverage Manager

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and creative leader to join our Hotel as the Food & Beverage Manager at Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Westlands, Nairobi. This role is pivotal in crafting exceptional and intimate guest experiences while bringing our purpose of care to life in every guest and colleague interaction. As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will oversee and lead all Food & Beverage operations, ensuring a seamless, high-quality service that aligns with our luxury standards. This hands-on role requires a keen eye for detail, innovation, and a passion for creating memorable culinary experiences. The position will be directly reporting to the General Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, oversee, and continuously elevate the Food & Beverage operations across all restaurants and special dining experiences.
  • Develop and implement innovative dining concepts, seasonal menus, and signature experiences that resonate with international luxury travelers.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and sustainability, ensuring compliance with local regulations and brand guidelines.
  • Curate unique and intimate dining journeys tailored to guests’ preferences, emphasizing personalization and attention to detail.
  • Consistently assess and improve guest satisfaction, analyzing feedback to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Build, mentor, conduct regular training programs and empower a high-performing F&B team, fostering a culture of learning, development, and excellence.
  • Drive profitability, cost efficiency, and revenue growth while maintaining world-class quality.
  • Lead the annual budget planning, forecasting, and financial strategy in collaboration with the General Manager and Director of Finance.
  • Analyze market trends, guest preferences, and industry innovations to develop strategic pricing models and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Implement cost control measures, supplier negotiations, and inventory management to optimize financial performance.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Food & Beverage marketing and PR strategy in collaboration with the resort’s marketing team.
  • Strengthen the hotel’s culinary identity through engaging promotions, events, and collaborations with renowned chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a Food & Beverage Manager (or equivalent senior leadership role) in a five-star hospitality setting.
  • A proven track record in delivering exceptional dining experiences and driving financial performance in a competitive market.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • A creative and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and guest-centric service.
  • Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a multicultural team and international guests. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • A deep understanding of global culinary trends, wine programs, and luxury dining experiences.

Revenue Manager

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Revenue Manager located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Revenue Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing revenue management strategies to maximize profitability. Daily tasks include analyzing market trends, managing room inventory, setting pricing strategies, and monitoring competitor activities. The role also involves preparing financial reports, collaborating with sales and marketing teams, and ensuring optimal distribution across various channels.

  • Revenue Management and Pricing Strategy skills
  • Analytical and Market Analysis skills
  • Experience with Distribution Channels and Inventory Management
  • Proficiency in Financial Reporting and Data Interpretation
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with sales and marketing teams
  • Ability to work on-site in Nairobi, Kenya
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry standards is a plus
