Manager-Controls and Governance

Description

  • Responsible for providing leadership and oversight over the balance sheet substantiation processes across the group.
  • Embedding strong controls around the GL and the suspense accounts
  • Regular monitoring and review of all group GLs for accuracy and appropriateness of business transactions recorded.
  • Review of group wide GL reconciliations and ensure outstanding items are investigated and cleared promptly.
  • Monitor compliance with all local regulatory limits where the group is operating and draw finance management attention for action to avoid breaches.
  • Responsible for embedding the Financial Control framework across the group.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Preparation of monthly GALCO reports
  • Any ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) majoring in Accounting or equivalent degree.
  • Relevant Professional Qualifications e.g, CPA (K) or ACCA.
  • MBA (added advantage)
  • Experience in data analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRSs.
  • In depth knowledge in central banks governing regulations across the subsidiaries
  • At least 7 years in Finance and Financial Reporting, preferably in a bank or in the financial services industry.

Manager Financial Reporting

Description

  • Coordinate preparation and submission of daily group financial reports to management and insights into material movement in key parameters.
  • Preparation of group monthly financial reports in accordance with IFRS, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparation of annual integrated and sustainability reports.
  • Responsible for running and custodian of all IFRS models across the group.
  • Conduct impact assessment of new Standards and regulatory requirements on financial reporting.
  • Liaise with the external auditor, internal auditors and market regulators in matters pertaining to audit and reporting.
  • Team management by offering guidance, coaching and training to team members as well as conducting performance evaluations.
  • Any ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

 Qualifications
