Centre Manager- Malindi Centre (One Position)- Equip Africa Institute

Qualification

Education, Skills and Experience

• Master’s degree in relevant area of specialization i.e. Education, Business Administration or Management, Public Administration
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a recognized academic institution.

Or

• Bachelor’s degree and a professional qualification e. Education, Business Administration or Management, Public Administration
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a recognized academic institution

Duties and responsibilities

• Overseeing all sections of the Institute, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration among section heads.
• Leading efforts to continuously improve the quality of education and drive year-on-year improvements in results.
• Managing the Institute’s resources effectively, ensuring funds are used as intended and within the approved budget.
• Leading the preparation of income and expenditure estimates for approval and overseeing the management of the Institute’s financial and human resources.

• Representing the Institute both externally and internally, strengthening its reputation and visibility.

Qualification

Education, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of specialization, i.e. Education, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing
• 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a recognized academic institution.

OR;

• Higher National Diploma in relevant area of specialization, i.e. Education, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing
• 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a recognized academic institution.

Duties and responsibilities

• Marketing the Institute to achieve enrollment goals focused on growth, diversity, and quality.
• Assisting in managing the admissions process in line with the Institute’s policies.
• Organizing and maintaining student records, including applications and academic performance.
• Providing professional guidance and support to applicants, parents, and stakeholders.
• Ensuring applications are assessed accurately based on admissions criteria.
• Coordinating internal meetings, workshops, and events for the admissions department.
• Preparing and maintaining admissions-related documents and reports.

Internal Auditor (One Position)- Thika Campus

Qualification

Education, Skills and Experience

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in the following fields:
• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)
• Bachelor of Business Management (Accounting & Finance)
• Bachelor of Science (Statistics & Economics)
• Bachelor of Science (Accounting & Finance)               
• A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
• Part or full qualifications as CISA, CISM or CISSP will be an added advantage
• CPA, ACCA or CIA certifications will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience gained in an audit environment as an assistant internal auditor.
• Must be registered with a relevant Professional body.

Competencies:

• Data mining, data analysis, detail-oriented and report writing skills.
• Competitive interpersonal communication skills and team player.
• Working knowledge of computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs)
• Experience in auditing Enterprise Resource Planning systems, digital platforms and other subsystems.
• Conversant with higher education governing laws and regulatory framework

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assists in analyzing the financial, operational and management processes and systems of the University and its affiliates.
• Evaluates the adequacy of system design, risk management and internal control framework in meeting business, operational and control objectives.
• Contributing to the preparation of risk-based audit plans, under the coordination of the Principal Internal Audit Assurance and Risk Management and ensures comprehensive and quality audit programmes are prepared.
• Performing Risk Assessment tailored to each area under review necessary for identification, analysis and evaluation of areas of significant weaknesses.
• Preparing and presenting to the Director Internal Audit written reports detailing identified key control points and weaknesses in the system or function being audited and provide innovative and creative recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions and improving operations.
• Assists in the investigation of significant suspected fraudulent activities within the University and its affiliates
• Assists the Director Internal Audit in undertaking projects reviews and undertake special audit assignments as directed by Head of Internal Audit
• Provides value added internal consulting services.
• Undertakes any other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time

German Language Proficiency Training Consultant- Mombasa Centre, Equip Africa Institute

Qualification

Education, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized institution i.e. German Language or German Philology, Translation or Interpretation
• Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in a comparable position

Key responsibilities also include

Reporting to Executive Director;

Duties and responsibilities

• Planning, preparing, and teaching German language units as per the course curriculum.
• Developing learning materials and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
• Creating and delivering tailored learning plans to meet individual student needs.
• Assessing student work and tracking their academic performance.
• Participating in course reviews and adapting teaching methods to meet student needs.
• Examining and marking student assessments (C.A.Ts and end-of-term exams), and uploading marks in the system.
• Supervising students during practical sessions and assessments.

Tutorial Fellow (Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy)

Qualification

Education, Skills and Experience

Must have:

• Master’s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited university in the relevant field.

OR

• Bachelor’s degree (for special cases outlined on MKU teaching staff appointments and promotions guidelines, 2020);
• Be registered/ registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification;
• Registered with relevant professional body where applicable.
