Interim Early Childhood Development Programme Lead
The Opportunity
Plan International is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our global gender transformative Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme. In this maternity cover role, you will be responsible for driving the quality, impact, alignment, scale, and resourcing of our ECD initiatives, working in close collaboration with Country Offices, Regions, and National Organisations.
Your expertise will be key in managing our global ECD technical package, developing and scaling effective programme models and good practices, and ensuring robust impact reporting. You will also play a pivotal role in fostering a connected and vibrant programme and technical network, embedding gender transformative ECD policies and practices across our organisation.

About You
- Proven experience in international work environments in varied contexts and intercultural communication, including an understanding of NGO structures, the girls and women’s equality movement and the UN human rights and humanitarian system
- Strong and lived experience in countries of the global south in developing, scaling or mainstreaming ECD programs.
- Experience of developing programme and influencing models in humanitarian and development settings on early childhood development, advancing children’s rights and/or gender equality in a national and/or international context
- Knowledge and experience in rights based and gender transformative programming and influencing
- Experience in programme and influence design, monitoring & evaluation, learning and knowledge management
Network and Knowledge Coordinator
The Opportunity
- We are seeking a Global Network & Knowledge Coordinator to support our Global Programme Team by coordinating thematic networks, enhancing cross-organisational learning, and strengthening capacity.
- This role is vital in facilitating knowledge management, promoting effective communication, and ensuring our programs are both locally led and globally connected.
- You will play a key role in integrating learnings from Country Offices into global practices, driving impactful and sustainable outcomes across our programme portfolio.
About You
- Demonstrable work experience/demonstrated interest/achievements in at least three of the following areas:
- Facilitation/coordination of networks or communities of practice
- Design and facilitation of knowledge management platforms and processes; and prior use of relevant platforms/software and tools (e.g. Sharepoint, other online libraries)
- Design and facilitation of learning opportunities (face-to-face, virtual or hybrid) using a variety of software and tools
- Communication – use of social media and platforms for internal development/outreach and/or graphic design (e.g. Teams, Workplace, InDesign or equivalent)
- Data – data collection/management and/or analysis (for instance using Excel, Epi-info, SPSS or other)
- Skilled in using platforms such as SharePoint, Google Analytics, Microsoft 365 (including Teams), and Workplace.
- Able to take initiative, ability to work independently, and keen attention to detail.
- Capable of simplifying complex technical information into clear and practical messages.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience working in international and cross-cultural settings.
