Legal/Industrial Relations Officers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Chair CBA negotiations meetings between Employers and the Unions and act as secretary
- Prepare CBAs and ensure that they are registered.
- Advise employers in all Labour related issues i.e. obligations and rights of employers
- Assist members in resolving strike situations and initiating injunctive procedures in court as necessary.
- Represent employers in the Employment and Labour Relations Court
- Represent members in conciliations/ trade disputes.
- Represent FKE in social dialogue meetings.
- Prepare training materials in Industrial Relations and execute the training.
- Facilitate various Association Meetings and act as the secretary.
- Assist in collecting subscriptions and other FKE debts from members.
- Represent the Executive Director in various meetings as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.Bachelor’s degree in law, HR or a related Social Science field.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations
- Current member of the IHRM
- 5 years’ progressive experience in Employment Law, Labour and Industrial Relations with specific practice in collective bargaining and grievance resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with Trade Unions and handle disputes, grievances and discipline issues.
- Ability to negotiate, conclude and prepare Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)
- Experience in preparing training contents and delivering trainings will be an added advantage.

- Strong understanding of the tripartite movement, labour laws and labour structures in the country
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of labour relations management in various sectors,demonstrated knowledge of grievance and arbitration processes.

Training and Consultant Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating and taking part in development of training materials
- Delivery of trainings on HR & Employment matters such as Discipline Management, Managing Employment contracts & separation, Industrial Relations, OSH, Labour laws, PreCBA Negotiations, Outplacement among others
- Mobilising participants to sign up for various training courses as per the training calendar
- Sourcing for training and consulting assignments through tendering, bidding and proposal writing to meet revenue targets, promote business growth and profitability.
- Competitively Marketing and communicating FKE Training & Consulting products and services
- Executing Organizational Development assignments such as: HR Audits, Formulation & Review of HR Policy & Procedures Manuals, Recruitment & Selection Services for clients
- Conducting research & benchmarking on Services to provide market insights and inform Training & Consulting programs.
- Analyze client requirements and develop customized training programs to bridge the identified gaps.
- Developing content and delivery of virtual and online self-paced learning programs
- Analysing feedback and evaluation received from Training & Consulting initiatives to inform future assignments.
- Identifying and building relationships with partners to strengthen Training & Consulting services.
- Maintaining a potential clients data base for future use and ensure constant follow up on the services rendered.
- Maintaining an up-to-date database of training alumni and participants.
- Advising the Manager on service enhancing and quality measures to boost satisfaction and service uptake.
- Participate in development of training calendars, schedules and timetables.
- Management of information to and emanating from other departments.
- Assisting in the coordination of training programs countrywide.
- Preparing timely and accurate weekly, monthly and adhoc training & consulting reports.
- Conducting post-training evaluation.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Psychology or a related discipline. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Post Graduate Diploma in HR, CHRP qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar role in a busy organisation.
- Member of IHRM or other relevant professional bodies
- Practical hands-on experience in Training and in Organisational Development assignments
- Experience in Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Business Development.

Policy Advocacy Intern

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Policy analysis
- Analyzing the trade disputes letters received from the ministry of labour
- Conducting Research to inform FKE policy positions on Social, Economic, Labour & Employment matters.
- Bills tracking at all levels of government.
- Preparation of executive briefs on Social, Economic, Labour & Employment matters
- Tracking outcomes of policy proposals by FKE
- Implementation of the FKE advocacy agenda
- Performing any other relevant duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Public Policy or related field.
- Attachment experience in a busy work environment in economic, social or employment research
- Passion and interest in conducting Economic research.
- Expert level knowhow in use of statistical software (s)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
