Assistant Professor, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation

Job summary:

The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean or his/her designee of Chandaria School of Business (CSOB) and will be expected to teach, conduct research and engage in service performance aimed at enhancing transformative teaching, learning and research.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties:

  • Teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels in the specific areas of specialization as listed above.
  • Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs are up-to-date and marketable.
  • Participate in programme development, reviews and assessment.
  • Supervise students’ research (projects /thesis /dissertations) at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Engage in research in the area of expertise.
  • Engage in service to the University, the profession, and to the community.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:
To qualify for appointment an applicant must have:

Assistant Professor

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from an accredited University.
  • At least 3 years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
  • A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer/Research Fellow as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
  • Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion as Lecturer/Research Fellow;
  • Be registered by the relevant professional body, where applicable.

  • Be registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification

Job summary:

The position holder plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of the USAID Employment Pathways for Youth program by providing administrative and logistics support. The position involves handling various tasks to ensure smooth office operations and effective communication with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties:

Communication:

  • Respond to communication from program staff and external visitors via phone, email, and in person.
  • Draft and internal and external communications for approval by the Chief of Party or Program Finance and Administration Director as required.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of meetings and field work.

Data Entry:

  • Input and update student information in the database system.
  • Compile and organize data for reporting purposes.

Administrative Support:

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

  • 3 years of relevant administrative and/or donor program work.
  • Familiarity with USAID or donor programs.
  • Experience within the administrative structure of USIU-Africa.
