Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:

Project Manager

The Role

  • The Program Manager will be responsible for project implementation of This Ability Trust projects across the country. He/she will lead the projects team in managing the essential aspects of the project cycle for all projects including planning, implementation and monitoring of the projects. He/she will foster collaboration with stakeholders, partners and the communities we serve to achieve project goals.
  • Furthermore, he/she will provide regular updates and progress of the projects, maintain effective documentation and reporting for program accountability.

Overall Objective:

  • To lead This Ability Trusts’ programs through Project Management, Partnership Development and Stakeholder Engagement, Reporting and Documentation, Advocacy and Financial & Resource Management

Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will be responsible for the following:
Program Management:

  • Develop, implement and manage program plans and activities in line with This Ability Trust’s mission and strategic plan.

Required Experience:

  • An Advanced degree in a relevant field e.g Human Rights, Social Sciences, Gender or Development Studies
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience in program management, i.e planning, implementing and evaluating projects; preferably in the non-profit sector or in organizations focused on disabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, community groups and persons with disabilities.
  • Experience in supporting fundraising efforts, including grant writing, proposal development and donor relationship management.
  • In-depth understanding of disability issues, policies and best practices.
  • Experience working with women and girls with disabilities is an added advantage.

Project Officer, Digital Dadas

The Idea

  • Training on Digital Literacy and Storytelling: The participants undertake the course which consists of various topics such as Digital Marketing Fundamentals, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Social Media Advertising, SEO, Display Advertising, Email Marketing, Google My Business and Google Analytics. The learning process is fully online and we use several platforms to ensure all Dadas have access to the content and information. The Skills eLearning platform is where they have access to digital marketing content. There are also weekly sessions on zoom facilitated by young women with disabilities that have already completed the course. We also have a Whatsapp group where all Dadas can share questions, information, learning resources, among others.
  • Mentorship on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights: During the duration of the program, the young women go through an internal mentorship process on comprehensive sexuality education, empowerment, leadership and life skills. This space provides the opportunity to have in depth conversations on employability, self esteem, sexuality among others. Internship and CyberActivism: To enhance their hands-on experience, we created an internal process where the young women rotate through
  • This Ability Trust’s projects, media and finance departments to gain practical tips on how these departments operate, and work within the respective departments to strengthen their projects. Additionally, the Dadas also receive hands-on training using social media for sexual reproductive health rights advocacy. The Dadas also run periodic campaigns incorporating all the skills gained during the program.

Project Officer, Healthcare Providers

The Idea

  • Healthcare providers are provided with support to unlearn negative attitudes and stigma attached to the sexuality of women with disabilities, and treat women with disabilities with dignity and ensure sexual reproductive health rights information and services are available, accessible and affordable to them. As a result, public health facilities management and personnel are better equipped to ensure an accessible environment to women with disabilities seeking sexual reproductive health rights services. Additionally, the program facilitates the establishment of a network of trained disability rights champions.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop a detailed project plan for healthcare providers training programs, on the Skills platform, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and healthcare standards.
  • Implement and oversee all aspects of the training project, including curriculum development, scheduling, and logistics.

Skills eLearning Curriculum strengthening:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to improve the design and develop comprehensive eLearning curricula for healthcare providers.
  • Ensure that Skills eLearning materials align with the latest evidence-based practices and healthcare guidelines.
