Deputy Director, Technical – WISH 2
The Role
- The Deputy Director, Technical is responsible for providing technical leadership to the programme. They will ensure the quality of all technical deliverables across all outputs, across all consortium partners. They are responsible for achieving results through effective technical planning, management, advice, administration, oversight, monitoring and evaluation and client relationship management.
- The Deputy Director, Technical will interface with the designated technical leads from each of the consortium partners and will oversee the WISH 2 technical pool. This pool is constituted of both short-term and long-term technical assistance across key thematic areas.
- The Deputy Director, Technical should have significant experience working in global health programming with extensive experience in SRHR programming. Prior Technical Director/Technical Lead level experience is preferred.
- The Deputy Director, Technical should have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrable leadership skills including significant experience managing large teams. They should have fluent English verbal and written communication skills with French and/or Arabic being an advantage.
Deputy Team Leader Finance & Operations – WISH 2
The Role
- The Deputy Team Leader Finance & Operations will ensure financial astuteness and management of programme finances by working with the programme and IPPF finance teams to prepare sound budgets, monitor project expenses including spend of consortium partners, negotiate financial terms with the Client and with downstream consortium partners and ensure timely preparation of IPPF and FCDO financial reports. The position will work closely with administrative staff to create an enabling environment for smooth programme implementation.
- The Deputy Team Leader Finance & Operations will have significant experience working in a global health or international development programme in a senior leadership, be a strong leader including demonstratable skills in managing large teams and working in close collaboration with others not under direct line management. They should have demonstratable experience working on FCDO funded programmes, be fluent in English written and communication skills with French and/or Arabic an advantage.
Deputy Director, MERL – WISH 2
The Role
- The Deputy Director, MERL strategically positions the programme to address gaps in the global evidence base and ensures that learning is integrated horizontally across countries and vertically within the public and private sectors. They advise the programme team, donor, third party monitor (TPM) consortium partner leads, IPPF colleagues, and key stakeholders in the SRH sector on learning and evidence aspects of the programme.
- The Deputy Director, MERL should have Significant experience in a senior monitoring, evidence and learning position, responsible for implementing M&E activities of international development projects, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health. Preferrable experience with FCDO programmes.
- They should have excellent technical knowledge related to data ecosystems, data analysis and generation of evidence for action in improved programming.

Deputy Director, Programmes – WISH 2
The Role
- The Deputy Director, Programmes is responsible for managing the programmes team that consists of Programme Managers and a Country Manager in each respective Lot 2 country. They will oversee the formulation of the annual workplan receiving input from all departments and then disaggregating with each country team the programme workplan into specific country workplans. They will provide oversight of the Country Managers who are responsible consortium coordination.
- The Deputy Director, Programmes will work closely with the MERL and Finance Teams to monitor programme spend and delivery of specific project outputs. They will support countries in overcoming programmatic challenges.
- The Deputy Director, Programmes will have significant experience in working in global health programmes with experience in SRHR programme implementation. They should have prior senior management experience with preferred experience working on FCDO funded programmes.
- The Deputy Director, Programmes should have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrable leadership skills including significant experience managing large teams. They should have fluent English verbal and written communication skills with French and/or Arabic being an advantage.
Team Leader/Project Director – WISH 2
The Role
- The Team Leader/Project Director is accountable for the successful delivery of the WISH 2 programme. They will oversee the day-to-day operations including programme implementation, monitoring of objectives and deliverables, financial management oversights and ensuring compliance with FCDO requirements. They will be the focal point for FCDO as well as consortium partners.
- The Team Leader/Project Director will have substantial experience leading large scale global health programmes with significant experience directly implementing SRHR/FP programmes. Preferred experience in either Team Leader or equivalent role. They should have extensive experience working on the African continent with preference given to experience implementing programmes in Fragile and Conflict Affected settings. The Team Leader/Project Director should have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrable leadership skills including significant experience managing large teams. They should have fluent English verbal and written communication skills with French and/or Arabic being an advantage.
